Welcome to my blog… and my business. I am retired from the U.S. Armed Forces. I say Armed Forces because I spent 6.5 years in the U.S. Army, and 16 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1994. I am currently employed by General Mills, Gold Medal division, in Buffalo, NY. Photography was not greatly in the picture (no pun intended) at the time.
It was in the spring of 2001 that I purchased my first digital camera. It was a Nikon CoolPix 800, with a resolution of 2.1 megapixles. I knew from that moment that I was a photographer, about to be unleashed. No longer bound by film…. which was no friend of mine, because of the expense of processing. I had immediate feedback with digital! I became a photo-nut. I always had to have a camera with me. In my church, I was the guy to go to for photos.
I grew to love photography more and more… so much so, that I purchased my first DSLR in 2004. It was a Canon Rebel DSLR. Then came the flashes and lenses. I currently shoot with 2 of my favorites: Canon 30D and 5D.
I have been blessed to be able to shoot many weddings and special occasions. I realized that I didn’t know all there was to know about photography, and reached out to the New York Institute of Photography and took their correspondance course. It has helped me immeasurably artistically and compositionally.
I will always be a student of photography; always eager to learn new techniques.
Check back later. I am sure I will open up more about myself.
